Who will you BE in 2012?

Welcome back from the Xmas and New Year break, my Figure 8 Wellness family.

Since my last post I have been busy on facebook, sharing my thoughts for the new YOU in the new year because it really is about deciding who you need to BE to achieve your new goals for 2012 before you start DOING and taking action so you HAVE the life you most desire. This is often referred to as the BE-DO-HAVE model and I love it, love it, love it!!!

So often people fail to achieve their new years resolutions because they decide what they want to have in their life then start doing stuff before realising who they need to be has to come first. I know because this was me...

I know I've said in previous posts, but it is so worth covering again, especially at this time of year. You see I haven’t always appreciated the BE-DO-HAVE model. Often I would ask myself, "Where is the lifestyle I desire?" I was ‘doing’ all the right things to ‘have’ all the right things yet the satisfaction, appreciation and gratitude never came.

In fact, when I was sinking into my despair a couple of years ago, all I could think about was what I didn’t HAVE in my life – I didn’t have enough time in the day, I didn’t have enough money, I didn’t have enough of me to go around with my children, my husband, my family and my friends let alone getting healthy. I was so focused on the things I wanted to HAVE but didn’t that I was running around DOING lots of jobs and juggling lots of balls without any thought about where I was going and whether I was getting there. The woman I BECAME was, depressed, unhealthy and severely stressed out.

That is when I realised I had to BE different and it wasn’t about having things or doing things differently. It started with me believing I could BE better - happier, healthier and a lot more balanced. That is the answer, the act of being will produce the having. Even the simple act of laughter when you are feeling down will lift your emotional state and you will feel happier, lighter and more present.

Once I started to focus on me and what I could BE, I started doing things that a happy, healthy and balanced woman would do and guess what happened? I began bringing more of the haves into my life – more time, more balance and even more money. Call it the ‘Law of Attraction’, positive thinking, the ‘power of the universe’, call it whatever you want. The BE-DO-HAVE model works! Combined with positive affirmations, it allowed me to focus on who I needed to BE to achieve extraordinary wellness in my life. Once I got it, and I mean really got it, my life transformed!

So please, take a moment to reflect on my posts on the "I am woman" Facebook Page and decide RIGHT NOW on who you will BE in 2012. Because your empowering choices today will influence your life success, your energy, vitality and joy will be contagious, your purpose will inspire and your dreams will become your reality.

  • BE WELL in 2012 - Be the Winner in your own game of life! 
  • BE HAPPY in 2012 - Make up your mind to be happy!
