The Twelve Qualities of Happiness:
- Love – love for self and others
- Optimism – true learning comes from overcoming painful lessons
- Courage – acknowledge fear and take action regardless
- A Sense of Freedom – everyone has the freedom of choice and the freedom to act
- Proactivity – live at 'Cause' and take responsibility for one's life outcomes
- Security – true security comes from a feeling within not through external protection
- Health – your mood is chemically linked to your body’s physical state
- Spirituality – live a full life beyond your own personal boundaries or limitations
- Altruism – focus and give generously to others without expectation
- Perspective – see the grey everywhere, always look for the bigger picture
- Humour – belly laughing is good for the soul, even more when you are laughing at yourself
- Purpose – know your intentions and live with passion
Happiness is not the art of building a trouble-free life – it’s the art of responding well when trouble strikes.
