Winning the Game of Fear!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?”
~ Marianne Williamson

Remember, you are a Queen and you deserve to live a life of purpose with an abundance of energy, self-respect, self-love, self-truth, self-forgiveness and self-esteem. Step up onto your throne RIGHT NOW and make a commitment to yourself, your health, and your happiness. Extraordinary Wellness is your choice!

When you think about the ‘why’ behind your decision to embark on your path to extraordinary wellness, I encourage you to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want because your mind is a very powerful tool and what you tell it to focus on is what you’ll get, forsaking all else.

If you look at this from the perspective of the law of attraction or simply the old adage, ‘like attracts like’, it makes sense to seek possibilities, dreams and inspiration. When we focus on what we don't want, we invite more of the same into our lives which is often why it seems impossible to move forward.

“The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want” ~Ben Stein

Now, if you're like me, it may be easier to first pinpoint what you don't want and knowing what you don't want is a good start. I know I didn't want the stress, the loneliness, the guilt, the feeling that I always had to prove myself. However, the challenge for many of us is that this is where the thought process ends.

Instead of focusing on their goals, many women get overwhelmed by the negativity of focusing on what they want to escape. In the end, the negativity takes over, the journey seems too great and they give up, settling for a life of quiet desperation because they are too scared to change, to shake up the status quo.

Fear stops you from moving forward. The more time and energy you spend trying to avoid the perceived pain associated with your fear, the more you will focus on the fear. The more you focus on it, the more you will experience it and the more real the fear will become. You must expand your focus away from the fear to the choices you have in spite of it.

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” ~ Franklin D Roosevelt

Fear is an illusion. We all have mini me voices (your Ego) which are constantly trying to reinforce our fears. Your choices to listen to your ego and validate your fears have a positive intention. They exist to protect you. Unless what we fear actually threatens our lives or the lives of our loved ones, it is simply a feeling based on a story we have chosen to tell ourselves about a particular situation.

As previously mentioned, many people spend most of their lives defending and justifying inaction. They are constantly saying that they will ‘do something’ when they have more confidence, more energy, more time or more money. Yet they never do and often move backwards as self-doubt, self-belief and regret sinks in. What they are really defending are their fears and these incessant fears keep them from skipping, jumping in puddles, stubbing their toes…LIVING!

All fears, whether it’s related to the possibility of an event occurring in the future, such as death; something requiring action, such as public speaking; or an internal state such as rejection, failure, or loneliness; can be linked to the universal fears below:

¥    Fear of not being loved
¥    Fear of not being good enough
¥    Fear of not belonging
